Viola (Haff) Kennedy

August 10, 1925 - January 22, 2021

Viola (Haff) Kennedy, 95 of Granby, MA formerly of Bay Shore, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2021 at Elaine Center at Hadley, MA. She was born on August 10, 1925 to the late William and Ethel (Thatcher) Haff. She was educated in New York schools and later went on to work for several years in retail and real estate before her retirement. She worked as a nurse’s aide in the newborn nursery for several years and truly enjoyed that. But we all know her true passion was fishing! She was a Bayman’s daughter and enjoyed spending her time often fishing for snappers at the far corner of the Bay Shore Marina Dock. She taught her friend’s and family her tricks of the trade, how to hook a lot of fish and created priceless memories with all of them. She also was an avid scrabble player, loved to create awesome arts and crafts with her grandchildren, collect stamps, play cards, attend a booming bingo hall and take a weekend trip to the casino. Viola loved to live, she often traveled, was an amazing storyteller, and was always the light of the family at holiday parties. She loved her family dearly! She attended every family reunion she could, she was a rock for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Rogers of Granby, MA and Linda Brandel of Brooklyn, NY. She was predeceased by her son William Collins and daughter Judy Collins. She is also Survived by her sisters, Betty Rizzi of Casselberry, FL and Pat Von Braunsberg of Babylon, NY, Predeceased by her siblings, Ethel, Bob, Myrtle, Dorothy and Walter. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Michelle, Lisa, Danielle, Bill, Justin, Erin and Travis, 12 Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. All services will be postponed till deemed safe. DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME of Northampton, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
