John "Jack" H. Fitz-Gibbon

John H. “Jack” Fitz-Gibbon, 69, of Hatfield, passed away unexpectedly on April 7th, 2022 on the Island of Bonaire while on vacation. Jack was born in Springfield, in 1952 to the late Shirley (Arbour) and John Fitz-Gibbon. He attended Holy Cross College for his B.A. and Western New England College where he earned his J.D. and practiced law for more than 40 years. Jack took great joy in his many cycling adventures with his friends and especially enjoyed his trips to Europe and throughout Hampshire and Franklin counties. He was also an avid scuba diver who enjoyed diving in the Caribbean and spending time with his dive friends. Jack was a member of the Hampshire Scuba Club, and the Cyclonauts Bike Club. Jack made friends easily and people seemed to be drawn to him no matter the environment. He was always in the thick of things and was kind, thoughtful and very funny. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. Jack was a loving father; who is survived by his son Colin, and his wife Rebecca of Alaska, his daughter Taurie of Easthampton, his sister Amy Eaccarino and her husband John of Texas, granddaughter; Lola of Alaska, his niece; Sarah Soler of Texas, and many friends. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 4-6 PM at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME, 120 Damon Rd., Northampton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
