Eleanor M. Hoye Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eleanor M. (McCarthy) Hoye, 90, of Amherst, formerly of Northampton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday July 24, 2022, at her home. She was born on August 4, 1931, in Northampton to the late Dennis J. and Elvina (Joly) McCarthy. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School and Northampton Commercial College. She had worked for Westover Air Force Base and The First National Bank of Northampton. She retired in 1996 as the Assistant Treasurer of Hampshire County. Eleanor is survived by her five children, Stephen J. Hoye and his wife Suzette of Williamsburg, Jeffrey F. Hoye of Deerfield, Terrilyn A. McCarthy of Amherst, Lisa M. Smith, and her husband Mark of St. John, SC, and Colleen Hoye Senecal of Amherst. In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law Ruth Rebello. Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John H. Hoye whom passed away in 2005, and her two sisters, Arlene A. Cole and infant sister Lorriane McCarthy.
