Sondra H. "Pat" Snape

Sondra “Pat” H. (Roukey) Snape, 88, of Huntington, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Linda Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Northampton on October 18, 1934, to the late Walter and Mary (Wright) Roukey. Sondra grew up in Easthampton and was educated in the schools there. She was an avid gymnast when she was growing up and loved to sing and dance on stage with her sister Thelma. She had worked as a machine operator at Pro-Brush for 35 years before her retirement. Throughout the years, Sondra and her husband Dick loved spending time at their vacation home in New Orleans in the winters until Hurricane Katrina. They enjoyed their time at their camp on Lake Champlain in Swanton, VT, where they loved fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends. She would use her gymnastic skills to teach her grandchildren to do cartwheels and handstands. Her smile was infectious, and it was rare to see her without it. She is survived by her loving children, Charlene Call and her husband Raymond of Huntington, Sandra Bombard and her husband Rusty Wilkinson of Florence, her son Albert of Southampton, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Ann Snape of New Hampshire, son-in-law, Joseph Plante of Florida, her sister, Thelma Boulanger of Easthampton, several nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Snape, her son, William Snape, daughter, Denise Plante, and daughter-in-law, Linda Snape, her siblings and spouses, John and Mildred Wright, Walter and Carol Roukey, Constance and Ronald Roy, Shirley and Alford Varady, Roma Roukey, and brother-in-law, Donald Boulanger. The family will receive family and friends Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME of Northampton. Funeral services will be Friday December 2, 2022, from the Drozdal Funeral Home at 9-10 a.m. A prayer service will begin at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Northampton.
