Ramiro De Jesus Jr.

Ramiro DeJesus Jr., 54, of Northampton MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Ramiro was born in Hackensack, NJ, on May 27, 1971, to Ramiro DeJesus Sr. and Elena (Rivera) DeJesus, both of Northampton MA. A proud graduate of Northampton High School, Class of 1988, where Ramiro excelled on the football field, but it was the light he carried off the field that truly defined him. From a young age, Ramiro was an old soul with a heart full of love, bringing warmth and laughter to everyone he encountered. People naturally gravitated toward his gentle spirit, his sense of humor, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued. Ramiro had a special gift for cutting hair—more than just a skill, it was a way he connected with people. He had a deep love for old-school jams, especially hip-hop, but he could catch a groove to just about anything. Back in the day, he was known for his breakdancing moves, and that same rhythm and joy stayed with him throughout his entire life. Most recently, Ramiro dedicated his time to community work at the Hope Center in Holyoke MA, finding fulfillment in giving back and helping others. His faith in God was unwavering. No matter what obstacles life placed in his path, he trusted fully in God’s plan—walking through it all with strength, humility, and a heart full of gratitude. His children survive him: Dominick DeJesus, Xziana DeJesus, Dasia DeJesus, and Julius Garcia; his parents, Ramiro DeJesus Sr. and Elena (Rivera) DeJesus; his brother, Miguel DeJesus; and his sisters, Daisy DeJesus and Dennise DeJesus. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Jacqueline Johnson, Jocelyn Guzman, Katana DeJesus, Azariah DeJesus, Miguel DeJesus Jr., Gizelle DeJesus, and Kaliyah Nunez—as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends who will carry his memory with love and honor. Ramiro’s life was a beautiful testament to unconditional love, faith, and resilience. Though his time here was far too short, the joy he brought, the hearts he touched, and the love he gave so freely will continue to shine through everyone who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the V.F.W. Post 8006, in Florence, MA.
