Karen L. (Prindle) Holhut

Karen L. (Prindle) Holhut, 60, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 22, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on August 2, 1962, to the late Thomas Prindle Sr. and to Joyce (Tetrault) Prindle. Karen was a graduate of Northampton High School, and shortly later found her true passion as an assistant gemologist and worked at Bill Brough Jewelers in Northampton for over 25 years. Karen’s love and devotion to her job resulted in many long-lasting friendships. Karen and Kenneth “Wiener” Holhut dated in their younger years, fate brought them back together and they were happily married in Hatfield on August 14, 2004. Together, Karen and Wiener were co-owners of the former Double B’s in Hatfield with her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Dean Elliott. Karen’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her husband, grandchildren, family, and friends. She loved trips to the casino, shopping, playing bingo, being poolside, salon visits, dancing, local activities and having fun. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Karen is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 18 years, Kenneth Holhut of Hatfield, her daughter, Sharon Burelle, her granddaughters, Janessa and Tawnya Burelle all of Pensacola, FL, her mother, Joyce Prindle and her longtime companion, Wesley Scott of Northampton, her brothers, Thomas Prindle Jr. of Northampton, Darin Prindle of Atlanta, GA, her sisters, Gail Bussler of N. Hatfield, Lynn Elliot and her husband Dean of Northampton, Janine LaPointe and her husband Paul of Huntington, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 2PM – 5PM at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME of Northampton. Funeral will be Monday, February 27, 2023, from 10AM-11AM with a prayer service to begin at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Northampton.
