Alison B. Curran

Alison B. Curran, 59, of Hadley, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was born in Malden, MA on December 16, 1963, to the late Leo and Sarah (Feingold) Gordon. She was a graduate of Revere High School, class of 1982, and received her associate degree in fashion marketing from Newbury Junior College. Before moving to Hadley in 2002, she worked for many years in clothing retail at Lord & Taylor, Bonwit Teller, and Saks Fifth Avenue in Boston. Her most recent position was at Cathy Cross in downtown Northampton. She met and fell in love with her husband Daniel and raised two children in Hadley. They were married for over 15 years before his passing in 2009. Alison is survived by her loving and devoted sons, Alex of Boston, and Michael of Northampton, her sister Laura Ewald and her husband Jack (deceased) of Hadley, her brother Terry Gordon and his wife Pauline of Salem, her niece Arley Hoynoski and her husband Steve, and their two children Aurora and Winter all of Easthampton. Besides her parents and her husband Daniel, she was predeceased by her brother Roy. Alison was an honest and dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and friend who would always make sure everyone felt comfortable being their true selves. Her family and friends were her entire world. Alison lived and breathed for her two boys through supporting them in school, sports, and life in general. She found a way to light up a room and make every person see their self-worth. Alison found beauty in the small parts of nature. She always loved watching the birds from her window and making her pasta sauce on a cold winter day. She was someone who could keep a secret and never judge. A person that was always eager to have fun and enjoy their life, often traveling to Maine, New York and Florida. There will be a calling hour on Tuesday, June 13th from 11 AM – 12 PM, followed by a prayer service to begin at 12 PM officiated by Rabbi Benjamin Weiner at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME, 120 Damon Rd., Northampton.
